Church congregation urged to follow what police say about NGE

The congregation at the Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG) has been urged to adhere to what they heard during an awareness talk conducted on the National General Election(NGE) by the officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) today (3 March 2019) after a fellowship program at the Saint John School Community High School in Honiara.

Assistant Commissioner (AC) Crime and Intelligence Ian Vaevaso says, “RSIPF is the lead law enforcement agency in providing a safe and secure environment to enable a free and fair NGE in 2019.”

RSIPF congratulate officers after Leadership and Management training

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has congratulated 10 of its officers who graduated with certificates in Leadership and Management from the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) during a ceremony at the Heritage Hotel in Honiara on 27 February 2019
The 10 officers include five male and five female.

RSIPF officers undergo UN pre-deployment training

Twenty officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) are undergoing a United Nations (UN) pre-deployment training at the Police Academy in Rove Honiara from today (28 February 2019) to 22 March 2019.

There are four female and 16 male participants.

Speaking on behalf of the RSIPF Commissioner, Chief Superintendent Evelyn Thugea says, “The one month training is to prepare members being deployed on overseas missions for living and working in an environment very different from what they are used to at home.”

Police in Central Province receive Forensic training in preparation for NGE

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Central Province have been able to improve their skills in the areas of crime scene basic examination and fingerprinting during a training held at Tulagi on 26 February 2019.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province, Inspector Hugo Maelasi says, “The training program is to equip my officers in the field of forensics in preparation for the National General Election (NGE) scheduled for 3 April 2019.”

RSIPF urge SSEC congregation to work towards a safe and peaceful NGE

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) urges members of the South Seas Evangelical Church (SSEC) congregation in Honiara to work together with the police to ensure a safe and peaceful National General Election.

As part of the preparations for the NGE on 3 April 2019, a team from the RSIPF Crime Prevention Department led by the Supervising Assistant Commissioner (AC) Operations, Chief Superintendent Alfred Uiga held an awareness talk at the SSEC Central Church in Honiara on 24 February 2019.

Residents warned to stay clear from UXO at Tulagi Hill Top, Central Province

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) will be conducting a Render Safe Procedure (RSP) at the Tulagi Hill Top in the Central Province between 8 am to 3 pm on Friday 1 March 2019.

Officer In-Charge of the EOD Team, Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “This task is in response to a report of unexploded ordnance (UXO) that has been found recently by members of the community living there. The UXO is fitted with a Mechanical Time Fuse and is unsafe to move.”

RSIPF Traffic reminds road users of road safety as NGE approaches

The Traffic Department of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has reminded all vehicle owners and drivers to check the renewal dates of their vehicle and driver’s licenses before they are caught.

“It is cheaper and easier to pay renewal fees than to end up in Court if you are caught with an expired vehicle and driver’s license,” says Director of Traffic, Superintendent Fred Satu.

He adds: “On 24 February 2019 Traffic officers in Honiara conducted a checkpoint operation where one driver had their vehicle impounded and he now faces charges for driving matters.

Six dwelling houses have been burnt down at Kukwisi Village in West Kwara’ae, Malaita Province on 23 February 2019 after an argument between two groups of people.

Parishioners urged to cooperate with police for a free, fair and peaceful election

Parishioners of the Holy Cross Parish in Honiara have been told to work together with the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) for a free, fair and peaceful National General Election (NGE) during an awareness talk conducted at the Holy Cross Cathedral on 24 February 2019.

More than two hundred parishioners of the Holy Cross Parish attended the awareness talk by a team from the RSIPF Crime Prevention Department.

PPCs ready for the National General Election

All Provincial Police Commanders (PPCs) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) are ready with their operation orders for the National General Election scheduled for 3 April 2019.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) for Operations, Gabriel Manelusi says, “I am pleased with the amount of preparation so far by Provincial Police Commanders and departmental directors the coming National General Election as revealed in your presentations today (22 February 2019).”
