Auki police have arrested a 24-year-old male suspect for the alleged attack of a 24-year-old male victim at Kwaimela village in Central Kwara’ae recently.

The incident occurred after an argument between the suspect and the victim, where it was also alleged that the suspect went to the victim’s pig fence and killed one of his pigs without any reason.

The victim went after the suspect to ask him at his market stall, and all of a sudden, the suspect came with a bush knife and a cocoa harvesting knife and attacked him.

Operation (Ops) Commander Mr. Simpson Pogeava said most reports are alcohol-related during the zero-tolerance operation in Honiara over the weekend, which involved our youths.

Ops Commander Pogeava said some people are involved in the illegal sale of alcohol, such as Kwaso (homebrew). Even others illegally sell off alcohol along with their betel nut stalls on the roadside markets.

A total of 15 suspects have been arrested over the weekend during Operation Zero Tolerance in Honiara.

The suspects were arrested for illegal gambling, unlicensed vehicles, presence of alcohol, and resisting arrest.

Operation (Ops) Commander, Zero Tolerance Mr. Simpson Pogeava said the Zero Tolerance operation will continue on to keep our town a safe place where we can move freely to do our normal business.

Criminal investigators of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Central Police Station learned how to prevent and investigate online fraud crimes during a training held recently in Honiara.

The training has been supported and facilitated by China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) to boost the capability of investigators to navigate the new trends of online crimes, although we still have yet to have a cyber act.

This is a second specialized training course on enhancing about 20 investigators to boost their criminal investigation capabilities.

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) and China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) have conducted a police awareness talk at the Fighter One community at the back of the Henderson airport runway recently.

Nearly 40 people, including local community leaders, key members of the Crime Prevention Committee (CPC), and people from the community, attended the awareness program.

The purpose of the awareness program is to introduce the Chinese “Fengqiao experience,” a community policing model in China, and tailor it into a Solomon Island concept.

As part of ongoing support to the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) community engagement implementation plan, the China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) has supported Rove Community Associations with sewing items.

The training is part of promoting local women's employment, income growth, and gender equality; strengthening safer communities; and deepening the integration of police cooperation and community development.

A suspect has been arrested for swearing at police officers during a foot beat patrol at Gilbert Camp, Borderline, and the Kobito area on 6 August 2025.

Naha police have successfully conducted a high-visibility foot beat in areas such as Gilbert Camp, the 10-dollar Market, and the surrounding vicinity, showing proactive community policing in our communities.

The primary aim of the foot beat initiative is to foster direct interaction between the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and the community.

The Explosive Ordinance Disposal Department (EODD) of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) successfully neutralized a 226 kg U.S. aerial bomb that had been hindering development efforts in the newly established Taro township.

Supervising EODD Director Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Ansa Puaraua explained that the UXO posed a significant threat due to its weight and instability, making it unsafe to relocate.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) and RSIPF & AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) members visited several communities throughout July to strengthen relationships and promote public safety.
Recently, Naha Police and RAPPP teams were invited to share their community and crime prevention program with the Gilbert Camp community.

Superintendent Leslie Kili and Inspector Roy Sade of Naha police station, along with other local RSIPF officers, attended the Gilbert Camp event.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) today, 31 July 2025, held a formal send-off service to honor the life and service of the late Senior Police Constable (PC) Paul Maesilia, who passed away on 17 July 2025.

The ceremony was held at the South Sea Evangelical Church (SSEC) in Honiara, attended by colleagues, family members, relatives, and friends.

In a heartfelt address, RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau expressed deep sorrow at the loss and reflected on the late PC Maesilia's service and dedication.
