On the 29 December 2018, Gizo Police Officers had extended their High visibility Patrol and Community Visitation to Kolobangara and Parara Island.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, “The Communities visited at Kolobangara Island are Vavanga, Ghatere, Hunda, Cana, Teme and Jack Harbour. The visit is to make sure that message is delivered through awareness for the people to consider that this festive season must be celebrated in peaceful way.”

Police this week arrest and charge the prime suspect of armed robbery at Capital Park that happen on 22 December 2018 in East Honiara.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara, Superintendent Barry Rush Saukiu says, “The 30-year-old suspect was arrested yesterday, 30 December 2018 at Burns Creek area in East Honiara.”

Police at Gizo in Western Province arrested an adult male suspect from Suantali Village, Dovele area Vella La Vella Island, for intimidating his closest family member on the 26 December 2018.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, “On 26 December 2018 officers were conducting high visibility patrol on boat as part of its operation plan on the festive season, visiting each communities in Vella La Vella when they met up with the incident at Suantali Village, Dovele Area.”

Police at Gizo in Western Province had continue to delivered its services to the general public through awareness talks in the communities and attending reports when requested during the festive season operation.

On the 28 December 2018 Gizo Police had deployed officers to the Communities in and around Gizo Island to do Public awareness talks. There were three Communities visited and they are Bibolo, Vorivori and Saeraghi.

Police at Tulagi in Central Province are investigating an allegation of rape of a 13-year-old girl at Ghole Village in Central Province on the 20 December 2018.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Province, Inspector Hugo Maelasi says, “On 24 December 2018, Tulagi Police attended to the report of the rape incident which occurred on 20 December 2018 at around 1pm in afternoon.”

Police in Western Province remind vehicle drivers and Out Boat Motor (OBM) when driving along the road and travelling on the water to take extra care during the current bad weather affecting the Province.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Chief Superintendent Lenialu says, “Police like to remind public that speeding must be discouraged when driving along the road and OBM drivers must watch out during bad weather.”

Fifteen police officers from Gizo Police Station had visited five communities in Vella La Vella Island as part of the community engagement during festive season following request from chiefs and elders of each communities for police presence during Christmas day on 25 December 2018.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province, Mathias Lenialu says, “The communities visited are Karaka, Iriqila, Vatoro, Leona and Varese.”

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) mediate a reconciliation programme between two parties involved fatal accident of a young man on 25 December 2018 in Honiara.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Barry Rush Saukiu says, “The mediation process started yesterday (25 December 2018) at about 4pm at Central Police Station with five representatives from each party who attended the mediation meeting.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) during an operation raided and seized marijuana and kwaso (homebrew) at White River 02 bus stop on 24 December 2018.

Police responded to information gathered that alleged sale and use of illegal drug known as marijuana, and local brewed alcohol known as kwaso at White River 02 Bus Stop.
