Police at Auki in Malaita Province conducted a meeting for its heads of divisions today (12 November 2018) in preparation for the Kwaso Action Plan meeting that will be held with different stakeholders in the Auki township during this week.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Superintendent, Timothy Apaesi says, “The aim of the meeting is to discuss with my supervisors how we can work with communities and the team from Honiara to roll out the Kwaso Action Plan and the National General Election 2019 Action Plan.”

Police in Honiara City arrested a 32-year man after he allegedly drove a back hoe heavy plant machine into the Coral Sea Casino Hotel in Honiara this afternoon (11 November 2018).

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City, Chief Superintendent Stanley Riolo says, “It was alleged that the man had some marital issues with his wife who works at the Coral Sea Casino Hotel.”

Police in Makira Ulawa Province appeal to landowners at Tawaroga Village in East Makira to adhere to a High Court Order not to disturb the operations of the Hagaparua Logging Company currently operating in their area.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Makira Ulawa Province Superintendent Peter Sitai says, “Aggrieved and disturbing land owners of Tawaroga Village in East Makira were on 8 October 2018 issued with a High Court Order by the police following their ongoing disturbance to the operation of Hagaparua Logging Company.”

Police in Honiara City has confiscated and arrested two suspects for alleged illegal brewing of kwaso (homebrew) at Aekafo, in the Vara Creek area of Central Honiara on 31 October 2018.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City, Chief Superintendent Staley Riolo says, “2180 litres of kwaso (homebrew) with the street value of $207,580.00 was confiscated during the operation.”

PPC Riolo says, “I can confirm that at least two suspects were arrested and will be prosecuted in court.”

Police at Buala in Isabel Province have arrested and charged a 24-year-old male suspect for allegedly wounding a 50-year-old male victim at Varagia Camp, Kotavo Ward, South West Isabel Province on 3 November 2018.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Isabel Province, Superintendent Leonard Tahnimana says, “The wounding incident occurred shortly after the suspect had an argument with his drinking mates behind a company workshop. The suspect chased his friend but could catch reach him during the argument.”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team will be conducting bomb blasting operations in the Western Province commencing from 15 to 19 November 2018.

Officer In-Charge of the RSIPF EOD Team, Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “The Bomb Blasting Operations will be happening at the reported sites of Ringgi in Kolombangara and Munda on New Georgia.”
