Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Central Police Station were trained on how to investigate cybersecurity challenges recently.

Assistant Commissioner of National Capital and Crime Prevention (NCCP) Mr. Simpson Pogeava said the training has been conducted by the China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) to provide basic knowledge of cyber security issues.

The sport activity held, known as the ‘China-Solomon Island (SI) Friendship Cup,’ was organized from 8 to 11 July 2025, which engaged more than 200 community members with 30 different teams.

The games started with the airdropping of footballs with a drone, which brought glimpses of cheers and excitement for the participating teams.

The participating teams were full of energy and high in morale, and the spectators cheered one after another during the community engagement.

The China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) has conducted Chinese Kungfu martial art training for officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) and their family members at Rove recently.

The training was initiated by RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau for RSIPF officers and their family members. The training was coordinated and organized by the Human Resources Department of the RSIPF.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) will step up its security operation for the Solomon Cup 2025 semi and grand final.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City, Chief Superintendent Jimson Robo, said a good number of police officers will be deployed to the game’s venue for the semi- and grand final with support from Rove police headquarters.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department (EODD) will conduct a live demolition of bombs at Hells Point, in the Alligator Creek area east of Honiara, on 23 July 2025.

Supervising Director of the EODDD, Senior Sergeant (SSgt) Ansa Puaraua said the Hells Point Demolition Range in central Guadalcanal will be active from 8am to 2pm on 23 July 2025.

“Farmers, fishermen, hunters, and the general public in and around Alligator Creek and Tenaru School are kindly warned to keep out of Hells Point while the operation is in progress.

Ruth Liloqula, executive officer of Transparency Solomon Islands and the patron of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), made a powerful statement to the newly passed-out police recruits at Rove police headquarters in Honiara on 11 July 2025, emphasizing that being a police officer is a lifetime commitment.

In her speech during the graduation ceremony, she said today’s graduation is not only a symbol but also marks the beginning of your duty as police officers to achieve excellence every day. Joining the police is a lifetime commitment.

Members from the various Solomon Islands Government (SIG) law enforcement agencies, such as the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and Immigration and National Security Strategies, attended a two-day workshop on Border Operations in Honiara.

A two-day workshop on border operation facilitated by two officials from INTERPOL who are attached to the Project Blue Pacific Team started on 14 and concluded on 15 July 2025.

Malu'u police have arrested a 22-year-old male suspect for removing signboards and throwing rocks at employees of China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) on 13 July at Kolove village, Malaita Province.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) of Malaita Province, Superintendent Michael Ramosaea, said, “The suspect, allegedly under the influence of liquor, threw rocks at the employees who reside near the construction site and removed signboards erected to direct traffic whilst construction was underway.”

Auki police have arrested a 53-year-old man for assaulting his wife on 26 June 2025 in west Kwara’ae, Malaita Province.

The 52-year-old male suspect who was heavily intoxicated allegedly assault his 40-year-old wife after accusing her of consuming alcohol at a family wedding. The victim was later rushed to Fauabu clinic by her relatives for urgent medical care.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Superintendent Michael Ramosaea said, “our investigation reveals a disturbing history of repeated assaults.”
