Twelve officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) were promoted to senior positions within the RSIPF during a Commissioners parade at Rove police headquarters on 17 July 2025.

The promotion happened after the Police and Prison Service Commission had endorsed the promotion of 12 officers to the ranks of Inspector and Superintendent.

Among the 12 newly promoted was a female officer who was promoted to the rank of inspector.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has welcomed 69 new police officers, following a formal graduation ceremony at Rove Police Headquarters.
The Cohort includes 48 men and 21 women, all selected from across the nation’s nine province.
These newly graduates successfully completed a rigorous 20-weeks training course at the RSIPF Police Academy, focused on foundational law enforcement skills, professional ethics and community engagement.

Seventeen officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and three officers of the Correctional Service of Solomon Islands (CSSI) have recently undergone mindset plus training in Kirakira, Makira-Ulawa Province.

The training is supported by the New Zealand Police through the Solomon Islands Policing Support Programme (SIPSP).

The police maritime of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) received six aluminum longboats on 7 July at the Aola base in Honiara.

The delivery of this vessel, made possible under the Australian Defence Cooperation Program, is a clear demonstration of Australia’s steadfast commitment to strengthening RSIPF’s capabilities and supporting maritime law enforcement and security in our country.

The Honourable Jimson Tanangada, Minister for Police, National Security and Correctional Services (MPNSCS), officially opened the newly constructed Maka Police Station during a formal handover ceremony held on 10 July 2025 in Maka, Malaita Province.

The event marked a significant milestone in the Solomon Islands Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen law enforcement presence and improve security services across rural and remote communities.

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) band and the Australian Defence Force (ADF) brass band rocked the crowd with their famous dancing patterns as the country marked the 47th Independence Day Solomon Islands in Honiara on the 7th of July, 2025.

The RSIPF and ADF, who also form part of the parade, provide some entertainment music after the official parade falls out from the parade ground. The vibrant atmosphere was further enhanced by the cheers of the spectators, who enjoy the lively tunes of the performance.

Naha police are investigating an alleged murder incident that took place at Green Valley in Honiara on 30 June 2025.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Honiara City, Chief Superintendent Jimson Robo, said that the deceased was allegedly accused of practicing sorcery by the suspect, which is believed to be the motive of this tragic incident.

The sad incident occurred at around 5am, the deceased was using the restroom located in a separate building from the house, when his daughter and landlord heard him shouting said PPC Robo.

The Auki Police are investigating a brutal attack that occurred recently at Taeloa Village in west Fataleka, where a 36-year-old male suspect allegedly cut off the left leg of a 30-year-old male victim with a 26-inch bush knife.

According to initial reports, the attack happened after the suspect demanded compensation from the victim over chickens roaming inside the suspect's food garden.

Auki police have arrested a 30-year-old male suspect in connection with the recent destruction of a church building belonging to the Oibola community in the Langa Langa lagoon, Malaita Province.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) for Malaita Province, Superintendent Michael Ramosaea, said the suspect was under the influence of liquor when he allegedly damaged the church building.

PPC Ramosaea said, “In addition to the church building, the suspect reportedly destroyed a signboard belonging to the Oibola Crime Prevention Committee (CPC).”

Auki police have arrested a 20-year-old male suspect for threatening his 48-year-old mother with a bush knife.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) for Malaita Province, Superintendent Michael Ramosaea, said the incident occurred at Rurusia village, Langa Langa lagoon, in Malaita province on 2 July 2025.

PPC Ramosaea said the suspect was under the influence of alcohol when he returned home and had an argument with his mother.

Supervising PPC Ramosaea said That the suspect allegedly pulled out a bush knife and chased his mother while issuing threats to her.
