Every Solomon Islands citizen were urged to work together with the Police to provide a safe, secure and peaceful synchronize National General Election 2024 (NGE24), a statement highlight during an awareness talk in Honiara by the officers of the National Community Policing Department (NCPD).
Director NCPD, Superintendent John Matamaru said the awareness talk was conducted at Savo market, White Rive market 01 and 02 bus stop last week with a good number of people attended.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department (EODD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) will conduct unexploded ordnance (UXOs) operation in the Western Province this week.
Acting Director of EODD Inspector Clifford Tunuki said the UXO operation will start tomorrow 20 February and will conclude on 2 March 2024.
Inspector Tunuki said the operation will be conducted in Munda, Noro on the New Georgia Island and other areas of Kolombangara Island.
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Tetere police station have warned two young lad for sniffing petrol.
The incident happened when the officers attended a report at one of the villages in Central Guadalcanal this week.
Sergeant (Sgt) John Manegaua said upon our arrival at the location we saw a 1.5 litre petrol at a workshop and asked if the petrol was for the generator.
"These two young boys used to sniff that 1.5 litre patrol", a reply from a woman when we arrived said officer Manegaua.
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) and Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Commissioners met recently to set the agenda of the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) for the year ahead.

The Australian Defence Force (ADF), National Response Department (NRD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and Emergency Response Group (ERG) of Corrections Services of Solomon Islands (CSSI) have conducted a training on mission planning and orders in preparation for Exercise Coastwatchers next month.

The Police Response Department (PRD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) are currently rolling out Public Order Management (POM) and operational Safety training (OST) in Provinces and Honiara.
Training commenced last week and will continue until March in preparation for the upcoming National General Election 2024 (NGE24).

The Police Response Department (PRD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has killed a 2.5 metre crocodile at Foxwood area last week.
Supervising Director PRD Inspector David Quiro said officers responded to a formal request made by a concerned community member who feared for the safety of people who lived around a creek at Foxwood.
Inspector Quiro said, “The crocodile was captured using a bait on a hook before it was killed (shot).”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Auki have arrested a 30-year-old male suspect for alleged murder of a 30-year male person on 7 February 2024 in West Kwaio.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Superintendent Leslie Kili said, “The deceased and the suspect were drinking beer together after selling their timber in Auki and returned home on 6 February 2024.”

A Joint Planning Team, involving members from the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), conducted a desktop exercise for Provincial Police Commanders at the Provincial Police Commanders and Directors Conference that concluded in Honiara last week.
This initiative is part of preparations for the National General Elections in April.
