Members of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), Australian Federal Police (AFP), RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) and the Solomons’ International Assistance Force (SIAF) staged a joint community engagement event at Kukum on 15 February 2024.
Over 400 residents from communities in and around the Kukum area took part in the community event. They include residents from Fishery village, Woodford, Mbua Valley, Bahai and Saint Nicholas area.

Auki Community Policing Team of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force in Malaita Province have conducted an awareness talk program at Fulisango community in Central Kwara’ ae on Sunday 26 February 2024.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Superintendent Leslie Kili said, the awareness talk was based on navigating political issues with a Christian mindset while the message was more focused on Christians to prepare their mindset to face the turbulent waters of political issues.

A total of 12 male offenders were apprehended and charged for restriction of making liquor contrary to section 50(2) d of the Liquor Act throughout the Christmas and New Year police operations in Temotu Province.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Temotu Province, Superintendent James Toaki says, “7 male were sentence to 8-9 months imprisonment, and 4 others were remanded awaiting their sentence whilst 1 male was fined $2,000. The 12 male are between the ages of 19-45 years old.”
The suspects appeared before Lata Magistrate Court and at Kala Bay from 5-16 February 2024.
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Tetere Police Station have arrested and remanded an 18-year-old suspect from North-East Guadalcanal this week.
The suspect was under the influence of alcohol when he threatened a couple with a long bush knife.
RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau said the couple took their family to a nearby village for safety on 17 December 2023 after the threatening incident.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at the National Traffic Department (NTD) are investigating a double traffic accident, involving a white double cabin Mitsubishi and a Blue X-trail at the King George sixth roundabout on 17 February 2024.
RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau says, “According to the report received, both vehicles heading easterly direction, the vehicle that was said to have been mistaken that leads to the accident is a Mitsubishi and was driven by a foreigner.”
The National Traffic Department (NTD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) attended to a vehicle accident at Bahai in the early hours of 18 February 2024.
RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “The incident occurred at the Bahai junction. According to witnesses, both vehicles were travelling east direction when the vehicle on the outer lane maneuvered to the inner lane and collided with the other vehicle.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Seghe police station have recently arrested, charged and remanded an ex-convicted prisoner for three offences in Western Province.
RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau says, “According to investigations the suspect was informed of a relationship his 18-years-old daughter had with one of her relatives (cousin) and rumours of the young lovers planning to elope.”
Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Gizo Police Station are investigating a suicide incident of a 11-year-old boy in Western Province on 19 February 2024.
Commissioner RSIPF Mr. Mostyn Mangau said, “It was alleged that the 11-year-old boy commit suicide after his dad violently punished him because he has not attending his class for three days.”
