Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Taro Police Station have arrested a 23-years-old male person for house break-in at Qaloe logging camp, North West Choiseul recently.
It was alleged that the Camp Manager of Qaloe Logging Camp left his office and went to have his meal at the mess. The suspect, who was an employee of the company, entered the office through a window and removed the amount of $35,000.00 and escaped.
Taro Police have arrested four suspects for stealing outboard motor engine parts at Saqata logging company, South Choiseul on 25 June 2024.
It was alleged that five-suspects went to Saqata camp with the intention to steal. It was at mid-night when the company employees were having rest, the suspects went to the log pond and removed the lower part of the company’s 60 horse powered (HP) engine that was anchored at the sea front and replaced it with an old engine part and escaped.
The Vice Minister of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), Hon. Wang Zhizhong, assured Royal Solomon Island Police Commissioner (RSIPF), Mr. Mostyn Mangau that the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) will continue to provide necessary support and training to RSIPF to the best of its ability.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department (EODD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) will be conducting Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) operation in Western Province from 26 July to 3 August 2024.
The operations will cover the following communities.
• Munda, Noro, Baeroko, Enoghae, Tambaka, Sasavele and surrounding areas on New Georgia Island
• Communities on Kohinggo island, the Vonavona lagoon and coastal areas.
• Ringgi, Teme and surrounding areas on Kolombangara Island
Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and Solomons’ International Assistance Force (SIAF) have been hosting community engagement events for the last six months throughout Honiara.
These events focus on building a positive relationship between police and the local community.
SIAF is made up of members from Australian Federal Police, Australian Defence Force, New Zealand Defence Force, Republic of Fiji Military Forces, and Fijian Police Force.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have organised a send-off service to pay respect to late police Superintendent Leslie Simao at the Saint Barnabas Cathedral, in Honiara on 23 July 2024.
RSIPF Commissioner Mostyn Mangau said, “The sad news of the passing away of late superintendent Simao is really hard news for us RSIPF organization, family members, relatives and friends.”
Commissioner Mangau said, “I am lost for words to describe the sadness that all of us have experienced from the news of the passing away of one of our leaders.”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have strengthened their efforts to combat illicit drug shipments by participating in a weeklong capacity development program in Australia.
The Australian Federal Police (AFP) Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP) facilitated the weeklong capacity development program from 24 to 28 June 2024.
Four RSIPF officers visited facilities of the AFP and Australian Government to observe processes and procedures relating to drug related crime investigations.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has welcomed 68 new police officers who have graduated as police constable today (19 July 2024) at Rove Police Headquarters.
The graduates consist of 47 males and 21 females who were selected from different provinces.
The recruit course ran for 23 weeks with intensive training and mentoring from the Police Academy. Three officers were discharged during the training due to discipline.

Acting Prime Minister (PM), the Honourable Bradley Tovosia impressed with the capabilities of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) during a demonstration training conducted by China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) in Honiara.
The RSIPF Close Personal Protection Department (CPPD) and Police Response Department (PRD) showcased the training received from the CPLT in a special demonstration at the Rove Police Headquarters on 12 July 2024.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Maluú Police Station have arrested a 35-year-old male person in relation to a fatal accident at Fauabu Bridge recently.
Operation (Ops) Manager, Malaita Provincial Police, Superintendent Michael Ramosaea said, “It was alleged that the driver of a pick-up truck hit a 20-year-old male person who died on the spot after the accident.”
