The National Traffic Department of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have commenced pre games operations in the lead up to the Pacific Games to be held in Honiara from 17 November to 2 December 2023.
Coordinator Operations PG23 Planning Team, Inspector Bryan Erekali says, “The main purpose of the operation is to prepare the public of Solomon Islands for the new changes to Road infrastructure and its usage as we are heading closer to the major upcoming event (PG23).”

New Zealand Police attached to the Solomon Islands Police Support Programme continue to deliver the five Step Mindset training programme for the Royal Solomon Island Police Force.

New Zealand Police working alongside National Crime Prevention department staff, Learning, and Development staff from the RSIPF deliver the training to assist the RSIPF to be the best that they can be – every day.

Last week NZ Police staff and RSIPF travelled to Western province and delivered this valuable training along with Family Violence Training to the RSIPF staff in Gizo and Seghe.

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) has gifted new gym equipment to the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at RSIPF Rove Headquarters on 25 August.

The equipment, delivered through the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), will increase the capacity of the Health and Wellness Fitness Centre providing RSIPF officers with improved access to high quality gym set up.

Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) members planning security for the upcoming 2023 Pacific Games have spent time in Queensland as part of an AFP-hosted exchange program.

The week-long program highlighted the AFP’s ongoing support to the RSIPF as it ramps up its operational readiness before Solomon Islands hosts the 2023 Pacific Games.

Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) officers in the Central Island Province are investigating an incident involving a matured male person who died shortly after a fall from a cliff.

The incident occurred near Minisi village on East Russell. RSIPF officers in Russell and Tulagi have arrested a suspect in relation to this death.

Central Province’s Provincial Police Commander (PPC), Superintendent David Soakai, says initial reports indicated foul play.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) wishes to respond to an article by Mr. Alfred Sasako in the Solomon Star newspaper article on 26 August regarding the release of Councillor (Cr.) John Szetu from the Central Police Watch House.

The release of Cr. Szetu was open and transparent and it was made on the best interest to protecting the integrity and image of the RSIPF and from possible civil lawsuit.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Auki Police Station in Malaita Province are conducting a search for the body of a male person who had gone missing after a fishing trip near the Ramos Island on 22 August 2023.

Two male person were on a fishing trip in a white and blue stripe fibre canoe with a 40-horse powered engine. They were fishing near the Ramos Island when their fibre canoe got striked by a huge wave and damaged the canoe.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Naha Police Stations participated in the Criminal investigation measures-training course provided by the China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) recently.

This Criminal investigation measure-training course covers the main investigation methods.

Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Naha police station Superintendent Henry Adi says, “Officer’s feedback with regards to the training is positive. This training course is very constructive and encouraged to deliver this same program to the entire provinces.”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Supervising Commissioner Mr Ian Vaevaso has attended and witnessed the gifting ceremony of Tinahulu Police Station in Central Guadalcanal on 22 August 2023.

The completion and success of the Tinahulu Police Station is made possible through collaboration between the Gold Ridge Mining Limited (GRML) and the Landowners.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force & Australian Federal Police Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), delivered timely support to the White River Community High School (WRCHS) Sports Day which took place at Town Ground recently.

The program started with a parade followed by entertainment, speeches and gift presentations. The sports program involved futsal, volleyball, basketball and netball.
