Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Tulagi police station in Central Province have arrested and charged a 40-years-old male for raping a 13-years-old female at Savo Island in Central Province on 22 January 2023.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Superintendent David Soakai says, “The incident occurred on New Year day (1 January 2020). The victim and the suspect are related.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Tulagi police station in Central province have witnessed the by-law launching of five communities in Savo Island, Central Province on 21 to 23 January 2023.

Communities launching their by-laws are Tsapaniata, Mavulu, Sisiaka,Kuila and Leboni.

Supervising Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Capital and Crime Prevention (NCCP) Mr. Jimson Robo says, “This was a successful event where police deployed a good number of officers to provide high visibility during the concert.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Taro Police Station have arrested a male suspect for burning a dwelling house at Sagasaga village Choiseul Province on 5 January 2023.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Choiseul Province, Superintendent Elliot Ngili says, “The victim of the arson incident and his family moved from Sagasaga village to Patchuava village when they were being threatened for sorcery following the death of a female at Sagasaga village.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Noro police station are investigating a suspicious death following the discovery of a young man’s body hanging inside his bedroom on the 17 January 2023 in Western Province.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Western Province Chief Superintendent Mathias Lenialu says, "It was after 10:00 PM when the deceased’s wife returned home from visiting relatives when she discovered her husband’s lifeless body hanging inside their bedroom.”

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) officers at Kirakira Police Station in Makira Ulawa Province are searching for three missing persons who went missing on 16 January 2023.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Makira Province Superintendent Peter Siatai says, “According to the report an Outboard Motor (OBM) canoe powered with 40 HP engine had left Kirakira town between 4:30pm and 5pm headed back to Na’ana Elite logging company camp site in East Makira with 14 passengers on board.”

Officers of the National Traffic Department (NTD) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) have completed a one-week training conducted by the China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) commenced on January 9 and concluded on January 13 2023.

Supervising Director National Traffic Department Senior Sergeant Loginor Waiparo said I would like to express my deep gratitude to CPLT and thank CPLT for coming to provide 20 police officers with this valuable training.”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Gizo Police Station Criminal Investigations Division (CID) have charged a 36-year-old male person for store break-in and escaping from police custody on 14 January 2023.

Initial report stated that the suspect allegedly break-in at a Chinese shop in Gizo town and remove cash and other valuable properties at 2am on 3 January 2023.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at Kirakira Police Station in Makira Ulawa Province have conducted a comprehensive training in West Makira from 16 to 18 January 2023.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Makira Province Superintendent Peter Sitai says, “The team had managed to conduct general law and order awareness along with training on Scanning Analysis,Response and Assessment model to communities in Heuru, Manua’a, Heranau’u and Tawaniauu Communities.”
