The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) launched its 10-year Strategic Direction 2026-2036 today (29 December 2025) at Rove police headquarters.

The supervising Minister of Police and substantive Minister for Justice and Legal Affairs, Senior RSIPF Executive, Provincial Police Commanders, and Departmental Directors were also present to witness the launching.

Kirakira police have arrested a nurse who had an accident with the Kirakira hospital ambulance vehicle over the weekend.

Supervising Assistant Commissioner (AC) Provincial, Mr. Tex Tafoa, said the accident had occurred in the D10 area close to the Kirakira airport in Makira-Ulawa Province.

Supervising Assistant Commissioner Tafoa said the nurse who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol had an accident with the medical ambulance on his way back from the D10 area.

The Honourable (Hon) Premier Kenneth Sagupari of Central Province (CP) warmly welcomed the China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) and the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) delegation during a police cooperation visit to Central Islands Province recently.

In a three-day visit to CP, CPLT, and RSIPF, they provided various police training sessions, conducted community visits, and delivered donations of essential materials.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), through its RSIPF and AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP), recently visited communities across Honiara to deliver Christmas gifts and support festive activities.

The visits were a way to thank communities for their ongoing partnership throughout the year.

The program began at Naha Police Station, where the team helped with the station’s Christmas celebrations and distributed gifts to community members.

Last week, RAPPP carried out a Christmas outreach across several locations in Honiara, sharing moments of care, kindness, and connection with children, families, and women in need.

The visit included the Children’s Ward at the National Referral Hospital, where RAPPP Advisors, local staff, and an RSIPF Community Policing officer spent time with young patients and their caregivers, offering small gifts and encouragement during the festive season.

Police present certificates of appreciation to fifteen apprentices after they completed six months of practical work with the Property and Infrastructure Department (PID) and Garage of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF).

Assistant Commissioner (AC) Corporate Support (CS), Mr. Stanley Riolo, presented the certificate of appreciation to the apprentice at Rove Police Headquarters on December 22, 2025, with a short official ceremony.

White River communities received support from police and security partners for their festive season sporting activities.

The support comes from the Solomon Island Police Support Program (SIPSP) and the China Police Liaison Team to engage communities during the festive season.

Supervising Officer Commanding Station (OSC) White River Police Station, Senior Police Constable Terence Vildam, said the initiative is part of our broader festive season crime prevention and community partnership program for a peaceful and crime-free West Honiara.

The 4th China Medical Team (CMT) and 10 medical professionals from the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University in Guizhou province conducted a free medical check for the officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Rove police headquarters on 22 December 2025.

CMT and medical professionals check a good number of RSIPF officers for blood pressure, blood sugar level, chronic diseases, and frequently occurring diseases.

Australian Federal Police (AFP) Deputy Commissioner International and Specialist Capabilities Lesa Gale, together with AFP Commander Hall O’Meagher, visited Fishing village in Honiara, sharing Christmas cheer with families during the festive season.
The community engagement event was made possible and hosted through the RSIPF and AFP Policing Partnership Program (RAPPP).

Kirakira police have conducted a leadership and trauma training for about 1600 youths of the South Sea Evangelical Church (SSEC) Regional youth gathering at Oneibia in Makira-Ulawa Province recently.

Supervising Provincial Police Commander (PPC) of Makira-Ulawa Province, Inspector Gordon Horomae, said the initiative is part of the crime prevention strategy and the festive season operations.
