The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Team will conduct a live demolition of bombs at Hells Point, in the Alligator Creek area East of Honiara on Wednesday 5 October 2022.

Officer In-charge (OIC) of EOD, Inspector Clifford Tunuki says, “The Hells Point Demolition Range in Central Guadalcanal will be active from 8am to 2pm (5 October 2022).”

Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Tulagi have arrested a 56 year old male suspect for the gruesome murder incident at smoking area in Tulagi, on 26 September 2022.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Central Island Province (CIP) Superintendent Soakai said the suspect is resides in Tulagi at smoking area with his close relative.

The National Traffic Department (NTD) of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have completed a one week training provided by China Police Liaison Team (CPLT).

The training commenced on the 26 September 2022 and concluded on 30 September 2022 with presentation of certificates. Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Capital and Crime Prevention Mr Simpson Pogeava, Director of NTD William Foufaka, Team Leader of CPLT Commissioner Zhang and his deputy Ji attended the close ceremony and issued the certificates.

Taro Police and other Solomon Island Government (SIG) Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA’s) are investigating five Bougainvillians who brought in 21 bags of sea cucumber (bêche-de-mer) last week illegally into the country.

This has happened after Taro police received a call from members of the public that five Bougainvillians were in Taro with bags of bêche-de-mer.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Choiseul Province, Superintendent Vincent Eria said we received the information and disseminated it to other LEA’s to focus on their tasks.

The Minister of Police, National Security and Correctional Services (MPNSCS), Hon. Anthony Veke today (3 October 2022) opened the one-week conference of the Provincial Police Commanders and departmental directors of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara.

The Conference is being attended by all Provincial Police Commanders from all the provinces and Honiara City, and departmental directors from the RSIPF Headquarters in Rove. The PPCs and Directors conference will close on 7 October 2022.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) today (29 September) other police around the world marked the ‘Police Remembrance Day’ known as the ‘Blue Ribbon Day’.

RSIPF Commissioner Mr Mostyn Mangau said this years' Blue Ribbon Day’ is a low key ceremony at the Rove Memorial Park, Police Headquarters in Rove, Honiara.

Commissioner Mangau said the ceremony was attended by the Minister of Police, National Security and Correctional Services Solomon Islands, Hon. Minister Anthony Kamutulaka VEKE and Permanent Secretary.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Lata in Temotu Province have are investigating a brutal murder of a 14-year-old girl in Temotu province.

RSIPF Commissioner Mr. Mostyn Mangau says, “The incident occurred on the 12 September 2022 at Malua bushland in Reef Islands. It is alleged that the young girl was raped before they killed her.”

Commissioner Mangau says, “Medical report revealed that the deceased forehead skull was fractured including the nose. A wound was also seen on the right side neck of the deceased.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is investigating a gruesome death discovered at Tulagi, Central Islands Province, on Monday 26th September 2022.

RSIPF police officers in Honiara and Tulagi have started their investigation into this matter.

According to initial police findings, the deceased is over 40-year-old. He has left behind a wife and three children.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Tigoa Police Station, Renbel Province have investigated an attempt suicide at Lavangu over the weekend.

RSIPF Commissioner Mr Mostyn Mangau says, “A young man in his 20’s had an attempted suicide after having a family issue.”

Commissioner Mangau says, “It was alleged that the young man asked his dad’s mobile phone to use it but his dad stopped it from him. After that he go out and attempted suicide.

The Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) reviewed its Crime Prevention Strategy (CPS) 2019-2022 in a one day workshop conducted in Honiara on 27 September 2022.

During the official opening of workshop, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Operation Ms Juanita Matanga says, “This year 2022 the CPS will be ended so it is important that we come and review the strategy.”
