Police Response Team (PRT) and Close Personal Protection (CPP) of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) have commenced a two weeks training on Short Barrel Rifle in Honiara.

Supervising Assistant Commissioner (AC) National Operation, Chief Superintendent Francis Ramoni during the official opening of the training says, “A total of 15 officers from the National Response Department (NRD) participate in the training which starts on 26 September 2022.

What a visit! Despite the wild weather on Wednesday 21st September 2022 Police visited Holau Christian Academy (HCA) at Karaina Community (White River) in West Honiara to conduct an awareness talk.

Police Officers from the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) National Crime Prevention Department (NCPD) supported by members of the Australian Federal Police working as part of the Solomons’ International Assistance Force (SIAF), visited and held an awareness talk, interacting with students and teachers at the school.

Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police (RSIPF) in Auki are gearing up for the By-Election in west Kwaio tomorrow 21 September 2022.

Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Malaita Province, Superintendent Leslie Kili says, “The RSIPF Auki officers are in preparation for the By-Election.”

Superintendent Kili says, “Officers deployed soon after the main operations briefing conducted to various polling stations in west and east Kwaio.”

Supervising Premier of the Central Islands Province, Honourable James Galini has encouraged Officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) during the closing ceremony of Public Order Management (POM) Training in Tulagi on 16 September 2022 to make good use of the training.

Supervising Premier Mr James Galini said I am pleased to know that this is the beginning of much training to come. The physical fitness of officers is important as part of the physical fitness and readiness to respond to threats from public or private individuals.

The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team will be conducting an unexploded ordnance (UXO) operations in the Western Province from Wednesday 21 September to Friday 7 October 2022.

The tasks will be carried out in the areas at Munda, Noro, Sasavele and surrounding communities on New Georgia Island. Rendova Harbour and surrounding communities on Rendova Island.

The Provincial Police Commander (PPC) of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) in Central Islands Province (CIP), Superintendent David Soakai said Public Order Management (POM) training conducted is a big boost to open development in CIP.
Superintendent Soakai in his welcome remarks at the POM Training closing says, “China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) this is a milestone for my officers which you have developed for my officers to reach a standard to deal with security in the province. This will give confidence to the people of CIP.”

Deputy Team Leader, China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) Ji Yong says during the Public Order Management (POM) Training you overcame all the difficulties, passed all assessments and met the training requirements which fully reflected the spirit of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF).

Deputy Team Leader Ji Yong says, “I felt the passion and enthusiasm shown by the police officers. Everyone is hardworking and disciplined. Overcome many difficulties including the high temperature, physical tiredness, and domestic difficulties.

A total of 33 officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police (RSIPF) have completed Public Order Management (POM) Training in Central Islands Province last week.

The training is part of capacity development of the RSIPF which is conducted by the China Liaison Team (CPLT). The training commenced on 6 September 2022 and completed on 16 September 2022. Officers from Yandina and Tualgi are attending the training.

Seven drunken youths from west Kwaio erected roadblock at Bira Bridge and demanded money from transport providers on 10 September 2022.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) National Security and Operation Support (NSOS) Mr Ian Vaevaso says, “This has happened to my two officers who were part of an awareness team from the Electoral Commission Office carrying out awareness and pinning of notices at ward 26 and 27 in west Kwaio purposely for the bye-election.”

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) removed 294 kg Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) at Taro airstrip in Choiseul Province on 12 September 2022.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) National Security and Operation Support (NSOS) Mr Ian Vaevaso said the UXO is from the United States (US) used during World War II in the Solomon Islands during the war.

DC Vaevaso said the other small bomb also removed from the same location which total up to two UXOs. EOD Team are working close with the provincial government for the render safe of those bombs.
