RSIPF in the Western Province have arrested a male in his 40s following a stabbing incident at Koliae Village in the Shortland Islands on the morning of Sunday 23 July 2017.
Police alleged that the suspect stabbed the female victim, believed to be his partner, after an argument. The victim was rushed to the Nila Clinic and has been admitted there.
Gizo Police say the suspect have been arrested and an application is being made for him to be apprehended in the provincial capital while investigations continue into the family violence incident.
Provincial Police Commander, Western Province, Mathias Lenialu has appealed to relatives of the victim and suspect to remain calm and assist the police with their investigations.
