The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is pleased to announce that a new recruit course of more than 70 police officers commences on Monday 17th August 2015 at the Rove Police Academy. The course will bring the total number of recruits joining the RSIPF this year to 110.The police recruit program is part of the ongoing development of the RSIPF and it will bring new confidence and growth to the force. There are eleven (11) females who will undertake the training, and they will be challenged not only their new male dominated environment and they will also be required to meet the same physical competency standards. The training is undertaken over a 20 week period and the officers will undergo a total of 25 modules of training including how to be a professional police officer, physical tests, police administration duties, operational tasks, community policing work, criminal law and policies, public order management, liquor offences, traffic duties and offences, cell and custody procedures, human rights and giving evidence in court.Persons who are interested in joining the RSIPF are urged to consult with the RSIPF Academy office in relation to future recruit courses.
