Police arrest robbery suspects and recover money

The Honiara Royal Solomon Islands Police Force investigators have arrested three male suspects and recovered two stolen cash containers following a robbery incident at the Wespac Bank at Point Cruz this morning.

Police alleged there four suspects involved in the attacked which left one of the commercial banks security officers seriously injured on his wrist, before taking off with the large amount of cash on an arranged car.

The suspects from Malaita who are in their mid 20’s, left in a vehicle and were heading down west of Honiara. One of the Police patrols who were lucky to be on the road at that time, went passed their vehicle which was travelling down on very speed and police immediately pursued them.

The suspects were arrested after their vehicle ended in an accident and injured one of them and with the assistance of the Kakabona community people, they kept three of the men and handed them over to police who arrived in time and made arrest. One suspect is still at large. The men were brought down to the Central police station and dealt with and were attended to by medical officers for their injuries.

Police is calling on the general public, both the relatives and friends of the victim to stay away from the matter to allow police conduct its investigation accordingly.
